Iran is not made up of diversely extreme opposition groups, prone to violent conflict, like Iraq is.

I suspect the Iranian Kurds would welcome the US in. Then only the Turkish ones would still be waiting in line. But maybe the Iranian + Iraqi Kurds could deal with Turkey?
