Hi- Have you reviewed the Filed Directors Circular? ashton.ca 
In my opinion, there are indicators of "wrong doing" and agenda driven approach by Rio. As well, an unsolicited bid makes enemies and tarnishes a reputation. The ideal approach would have been a friendly merger. If you read the circular, there is an interesting log of events between Stornoway/Ashton and Ashton/Rio which I find suspicious. As well, Eira wanted Alberta's properties and 38 kimberlites from Ashton! My guess, is Papa Thomas coached Eira but I believe they, including myself and many others underestimated their skill set, knowledge, experience and network.
