Anyone venture to guess which areas would be safest from hurricanes down here? Perhaps far NE Florida and Georgia coast along with west coast of Florida north of Tampa to the coast just south of Tallahassee?

I'm north of Tampa about 45 miles and we fared very well last year in spite of 4 hurricanes. The only damage to the house was a little leaking caused by wind blown rain getting into the roof vents, and a few small limbs down in the yard. All things considered, almost no damage.

We had 14 inches of rain one week and I didn't see any standing water. Most folks didn't give it a second thought, but I was impressed!
