Well, with the housing mania publications out there in virtually
every economic journal, I somehow am starting to doubt there is
one! With no better inflation data than the government CPI...

Let's see...
OIL is up 200% from 20 in 2000. CRB is up a lot more than
median housing price too. Median housing prices are not rising
nearly as fast as the cost of
materials to build them. So, is this a bubble, or is it just
that extremely high inflation is hedonized in the BLS statistics?

Housing is becoming less affordable, for sure. But if the
building material costs are skyrocketing, so would the housing
prices, I presume.
