When it comes to trading, it is just about impossible and utterly foolish to attempt to predict the future. Addressing that point in his book, Long-term Secrets to Short-term Trading, Larry Williams says that "people who make their living looking into crystal balls are destined to eat a lot of broken glass (p.3)."

He goes on to say that trading ". . . is a game of developing strategies with winning advantages, getting the odds on your side, working those odds, and staying alert to any potential changes in the game including new players or new ideas and concepts (p. 4)."
