You are correct. Fiscally, President Bush is a very liberal brand of Republican. He is more conservative than the middle Republican on moral issues.

The brand of Conservatism a commentator spouts is less important. Just giving them a slice of the time on all of the networks expands the discourse. This benefits everyone. Those that do not expand will whither into oblivion.

O'Reilly is an example. He is way more liberal on some things than most Republicans, On other issues (immigration) he is way more hard core. Still, he treats all of his guests with the same rough demeanor, and so comes off as being fair.
