Lynn,

I, too purchased a Verizon Audiovox CDM8600 a few months ago, for my very first cell phone purchase. I live in Port Townsend, WA and the reception is very spotty, but I can get calls out. The problem I have with this phone is the ring is so soft I can hardly hear it. Do you experience this same problem? I've tried setting the ring routine which works well as a test, but when it comes to an actual call, it's too soft to hear. The phone only works in analog mode, but can switch to digital in other areas when available. As a QCOM shareholder I also hear nothing but good things about their chips. Problem is, there is no Verizon store close enough for me to exchange or speak to a salesman. I've given up on calling them. Also, I think I read that Audiovox was going out of the cell phone business. Looks like I'm stuck for a couple of years.
