point to ponder re: oil prices.

At current prices, does it now become economically viable to recover oil in places other than the ME that are usually a bit more expensive. Thinking offshore and shale oil. I'm thinking that the sustained higher prices, though inconvenient now, may be helping us to severe our dependency on ME oil sources by allowing us to justify putting in the infrastructure to recover oil locally. We'll see if arno comes out of hiding to answer this one.
