h0db... take a read of this link and the email from a US servicemember fighting Sadr's militia..

You might even learn something about what it takes to lead men into battle someday..

I deeply regret the decisions of our leadership. It doesn't diminish my patriotism one iota.

Hey, I deeply regret the decisions of our leadership in not overthrowing Saddam back in 1991 and possibly having avoided this friggin' war in the first place.

But hey, that's the hand we've been dealt... And we're going to make mistakes, misjudgements, if not display incompetence at times. Our leaders are not infalliable..

Do I think this war could have been handled better? Sure.. hindsight is 20/20..

But do I believe that the stated mission goal was a mistake?

Hardly.. And we have more to do once Iraq is stabilized (and it will be if defeatists such as yourself quit trying to pull the rug out from under your fellow servicemembers)..

If you'll recall your history, almost every war the US has been engaged in has had comparable mistakes and misjudgements. But we learned from our mistakes, grabbed a few lucky breaks (like Midway), and managed to ultimately win the war.

Quit criticizing the past and start being responsible for implementing the future. If you're not happy, then tell us how you'd wage this war and what you're willing to suggest.
