I was told yesterday
by a Chicago traffic light maintenance person that a typical large incandescent traffic light installation draws 30 to 40 amps, and that an equivalent LED installation draws only 4 amps.
Since 30amps/4amps = $75/$10 = 7.5, this has the ring of truth.
