It's a pity that you did not print out the first of part of Robert Fisk's piece in which he maintains that "retaliation is a trap." While he goes under a masquerade as a "journalist," Fisk a relentless anti-American, anti-Israel propagandist who has made a living for years pounding the same theme. His self-promoting brand of journalism invariably places himself in the midst of the action, as he writes in a part you did not cover: "Mr. bin Laden....has described to ME how he wishes to overthrow the "pro-American regimes (s) of the Middle East...."

About the only thing he hasn't blamed the Jews for--yet--is carrying out the Holocaust themselves (or faking it) to win the world's sympathy and get themselves a state. If you wish, I could give a few samples privately of how he skew facts and sprinkles half-truths to fit his obsessions.

BTW, if you stretch to the Kashmir his view that retaliation is a trap, one would wonder whether India should be so brutal in suppressing Kashmiri aspirations.

n. b.: Don't you think this discussion better belongs on FLs foreign policy thread?
