Bill,

Nice tech grub! I'm just wondering if that's $0.06 Canadian or U.S. <VBG>

The only picture I could find (http://www.bluenergy.com has none...the site's slide show just brings on the 404 error message) was here: nutech.org

I couldn't remember the name of the windmill technology the Russian article that Copperfield posted reminded me of until I looked at the Blue Energy site; Darrieus rotors! invented in 1927. (I think I searched google.com for an hour and got nowhere. My aching brain feels soooo relieved now. Thanks much, Bill!) Anyway, without more tech info on the Russian invention I'm thinking the description sounds like a version of the Darrieus. It would be nice, Copperfield, if we had more info, but it's Siberia after all. A long way from home.

Micro-hydro (toss it in the creek and power your fridge) was all the rage years ago yet we've never heard about it since. The Blue Energy technology seems to have been around for quite some time too and resembles a larger version of the Micro-hydro turbines. Their site (curiously without graphics, charts, pictures...etc) seems to gear itself to capturing investment money rather than lay on a lot of useful information. I know we ignore Canada a lot but c'mon...if their mature technology is that good why isn't if proliferating south of the border? Something's wrong with this picture.

Any idea what?
