Fueled by a health-conscious, aging population, U.S. health club memberships reached an all-time high last year. Today, 52% of all members are older than 35; 10 years ago, the majority were under 35.

Total membership in 1987 = 17.4 million; 20.7 mil in 1990; 24.1 mil in 1995; and 29.6 mil in 1999. Source: International Health, Raquet & Sportsclub Assn.

Looks like we're tied to a market growing at a very respectable pace. gg
