I have been looking at Go America products for almost a year now. The main reason was to be able to get and respond to e-mail remotely as well as check stocks, place trades etc. The standalone unit seemed a little expensive and there were other alternatives that I have tried such as Palm.net and the palm7 organizer ($449 to $499) with only 2mg of memory - I found it cumbersome and did not like using the stylus to hunt and peck my message. The unit went dead within a week and I returned it for a refund and cancelled the service.

Next, I tried Sprint PCS Wireless Web service - For and additional $9.99 per month I was given 50 Wireless web minutes added to my basic Sprint PCS service which is $29.99. More often than not, I found that it would attempt to connect to the network and just sit there. During these attempts, I would be billed and use my precious data minutes and get nothing in return. In addition, you had to use the PCS touchpad to "type" your message i.e. press the two key three times for the letter c, the 9 key four times for the letter z etc. It would take me at least 15 mintues to type a short message and was difficult to see on the small pcs phone display.

Go America on the other hand sells several devices that make
wireless communication much easier. They have the two way pager device, wireless modems that will attach to an existing Palm Pilot and also wireless modems for Laptops.

The website at goamerica.net  will give you a good overview of the equipment and services they offer.

I do not currently have this service but reports from two friends who do have been positive here in the Southern California area. They have reported to me that customer service is good, connections are stable and although not lightning fast as an office lan or cable modem, certainly adequate for their needs.

I have no doubt that wireless internet will become a standard and feel that GOAM is positioned as well as anyone to become a major player in the market.

I listened to the Radio Wallstreet interview with the Executive V.P. Joseph Korb today and was impressed with his articulate delivery and product description.

The interview should be at www.radiowallstreet.com they said it should be digitzed and up for broadcast within a couple of hours.
