Voice: SVCs crack MCI for Accelerated's DSLAMs
MCI announced at Comnet a business service delivering multiple phone lines over DSL. In the MCI booth, Kevin Walsh and Kathy Tebben of Accelerated shared their excitement as I called home on a voice over DSL circuit. The MCI contract is potentially huge, although this is just a pilot program for now. Critical to the sale was the ability of the Accelerated equipment to use SVCs, which provide a crucial interface to MCI's legacy equipment. Alcatel's Jay Fausch told me SVCs will soon be delivered in their equipment as well.
