Regarding earlier discussion of Athm and their involvement in telephony you stated : Sounds good on paper but: ATHM has huge retail base. Att has the huge telephony base. ATHM gets revenues from a cut from what MSOs get. ATHM's base is not large and has no bearing on telephony. biz.yahoo.com Seems that HSAC [a smaller version of ATHM is rolling out a switched service offering]. Aside from the potential revenue stream involved in Telephony the important issue may be a telecommunications ruling issue. It brings the Portland decision into light. How can T be denied the fact that ATHM services are telecommunications services when cable modem ISPs are rolling out voice? As one of the judges stated/implied? during the proceedings if they are viewed as a Telecom carrier then the case will be ruled in favor of T/ATHM. Whats it going to take to prove that they are a telecom carrier if the capability to transmitt voice services isn't enough?
