MANAGEMENT
The management of Lumenon brings over 30 years of independent research and 6 years of collaborative R&D by two research scientists. Their unique synergy of applied physics, engineering and advanced materials science has facilitated the development of integrated optics components and devices for the telecommunications, data communications and sensor applications markets.
Dr. Iraj Najafi, President and Chief Executive Officer:
Dr. Najafi received his PhD in Physics from the Ecole Centrale in Paris. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal where he developed an international reputation as a pioneer in glass integrated optics. Dr. Najafi has been elected a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering in recognition of his contributions to integrated optics.
Dr. Mark P. Andrews, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer:
Dr. Andrews received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Toronto. In 1984 he joined the staff as a Prinicipal Investigator at AT&T Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Tehcnologies). His research focused on the study of advanced materials. In 1990 he joined the Department of Chemistry at McGill University, where he has developed new photonic glasses and polymers.
Dr. Chi-Yen Li, Chief Operating Officer:
Dr. Li received his Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Li has ten years of experience in development of sol-gel materials for photonics.
Mr. Vincent B‚langer, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. B‚langer is a chartered accountant. He brings to Lumenon 9 years of experience in corporate financing with KPMG.
