thall, its important to note that Behre Dolbear's involvement includes:

1) Audits (eg. BRX assays and now recovery on 500kg bulk sample)
2) Consulting (eg. assisting IPM on developing the recovery process)
3) Engineering (eg. feasability reports)

Now lets examine your concerns:

a) "They indicate that BD is involved up through the sample preperation"

This is a supervising/monitoring activity which falls under Audits.

b) "Then they say that BD is supervising/monitoring the testing facility"

Same as above

c) "Then they say that the results will be turned over to BD for evaluation. If BD is involved all along, wouldn't they already know and have evaluated the results at the end of the test?"

I think you have misinterpreted this. The results they refer to are the recovery data that the research facility has developed during the recovery test program. This data would be turned over to BD as part of their determination for full scale production. This falls in the Engineering classification which will be a part of the feasability reports.

d) "Then they say that BD will collect their own samples for their own testing"

This falls under Audits. For example, in the 500kg bulk sample test, the initial step is for Behre Dolbear to go to the BRX property, collect a sample, and secure it. BD then executes the recovery procedures and sends the result to the labs of their choice.

e) Regarding no lab names in the Dec. 19/96 press release.

Inclusion of lab names would make little difference to me because Behre Dolbear did not audit. So there would be a possibility of tampering before the samples ever got to the lab. Now, you can argue that IPM should have had an audit here but it is debatable given the time constraint IPM was under regarding the April 97 land issue deadline. Also, the recovery program was scheduled to take 8 weeks which is not a long time anyways.
