You bet I'm happy. I opened up the paper last Friday and my jaw dropped and I let out a whoop. 50% appreciation inside of four months. I'll take that any day.
You should see the other people in the office kicking themselves. I was pretty messianic about the stock back then. :)
On second thought though, I was kinda pissed, as I was planning on putting in more money if it was trading at 5 something. 7 is damn close to the initial offering price... I'm not sure if I want to put more in at par, having already gotten a bargain.
I bought into MVIS (my first investment) for the long haul, because I was familiar with the technology from the get go, and convinced that it was revolutionary in it's potential. It was a no brainer for me to put my money where my mouth was, and I bought in at 3 15/16ths (if I'd been able to execute my E-trade transaction at the right point, I'dve been in at even lower). There was no reason for the stock to be trading at that price with the amount of cash on hand; the value of the non-cash portion was a fifth of what it had been at the initial offering - way too low... if you invest now, you're investing based on potential, nothing actual. Volatility is to be expected.
I checked in here, because this is the only place on the net where I know the stock is discussed regularly, and I figured I'd be able to quickly figure out what could've happened (I was thinking... major contract? Guess not. Just typical Wall Street herd action. Damn. Everyone else has discovered my secret.)
