Forums Lists the top-level Forum Categories that contain all of the individual Subject boards, Hot Subjects and People (described below), and a place to create new Subjects. There are dozens of Investment-related forums divided by genre, each containing hundreds or thousands of Subjects. Non-Investment formus include Welcome to Silicon Investor, the Coffee Shop, and Politics/Government. Subjects in the Coffee Shop & Politics forums can be read by anyone but posting is limited to subscribers and grandfathered members. In order to maintain a high signal-to-noise ratio, SI moderators and site admins work hard to minimize off-topic postings, and site policy requires that ideological-based (i.e., partisan) political discussions be conducted in the Politics forum and not on Subject boards in Investment forums.
